为阻止日军进犯，由林甬升牵头，号召宁波商界大佬们捐出自家轮船沉于甬江口岸，以阻挡日军登陆舰进入宁波湾。大佬们虽各有难处，也都积极响应。林家更是捐出全部船只。沉船当日，林甬升请来民间乐队为船送行，自己不忍亲临现场。萧寒发现沉船地点有问题，很可能起不到阻挡日军的作用。林甬升不听劝阻，非要以绝食告祭那些沉没的船只，林雨竹担心父亲身体难以承受，萧寒别开生面的劝说，让他改变主意，雨竹深为感动。陈汉生将防御预案交柳干事保管，吴纯借日机轰炸，团部大乱之机，协助卢山成功偷拍了防御预案。柳干事发现有人动过预案，向张恒报告。这让林东野想起萧寒的提醒，怀疑军队里确有日本间谍，他分析情报肯定还没来得及送走，命令副官卢山暗查间谍，来个人赃俱获。
