翠山不慎被鹤笔翁抢去无忌，迫他道出金毛狮王下落。幸无忌不畏威迫，宁受皮肉之苦坚持不肯就范，令鹤笔翁无法可施。 素、山几番遭受袭击，幸遇上张松溪与殷梨亭相救，数人久别重逢仿如隔世。另一方面，素素虽然被众武当弟子欣然接受而暗喜，但毕竟惦念爱子，令她忐忑不安。 翠山眼见岱岩多年来虽保性命，但却变成终身残废， 禁不住内心悲痛。 三大镖局头目结队上武当，为龙门镖局灭门一事雪冤。正当两派斗得难分难解之际，张松溪陈述当年有恩于三派，致令其免遭灭门之祸，三派头目知难而退。 张三丰百岁大寿之日，各大派借拜寿为名，暗藏兵器乘机刺探有关金毛狮王消息。少林派空闻更藉当年两弟子被枉杀之事，迫张三丰交出翠山。 张松溪内心不忿，反指岱岩当年被少林派「金刚指」所伤，并力指少林派中具有空闻等三僧达此登峯造极境界，众人大表扰攘。
