智空带领小海到竹林寻找他们要找的人，来到翡翠林子一间房里。主人不在，里面冷清吓人，智空让大家先去城里。乌鸦责令长嘴和大眼继续寻找小海。饥饿的两只黄鼠狼追寻烧鸡的味道去到杏花楼，却看到杏花楼里面的桌椅在往外飞。智空带着小海也到了杏花楼，在那里看到一片狼藉景象。小海发现了一只飞镖上面有圣兽的印记，智空告诉他们那是灵蛇竹叶青的东西，竹叶青就隐居在林子的房间里的圣兽。智空写了一封信让小海第二天独自去见竹叶青，并介绍了他和竹叶青之间的关系。转天小海去见竹叶青，却看见被竹叶青抓来作苦力，武力逃脱的长嘴和大眼。长嘴大眼看见小海，在小海嘲笑下悲痛万分，向小海哭诉遭遇。原来那日杏花楼上他们见到竹叶青教训别人，后追随到竹林里。他们拍马说要拜竹叶青为师，却被竹叶青命令做酿酒的小工。
