赛西施怒从中来，责骂喜来乐将“铁狮子头”不是喂了鸡就是喂了像卢忠一样的“狗”。喜来乐一时解释不清，同时，他又不敢去见前来找他的鲁正明，深怕让他进王府为格格治病。万般无奈，喜来乐被赛西施藏进了自己的卧房，正在得意之时，被前来寻夫的胡氏看见，将他拖下床来。落魄书生田魁路经“食为天”饭馆，捡起孟庆合的西洋狗都不吃的肉吃了起来，孟庆合大怒，当即要了十碗米饭硬逼迫田魁当场吃下，眼见田魁要被米饭撑死，喜来乐、赛西施想方设法将田魁救下。自以为受尽侮辱的田魁缓过劲来，不由分说，抄起棍棒追打喜来乐，得知真情后，对喜郎中等人感激万分。格格病情日益加重，王爷听说王天和已经无药可治，下了最后的决心，绑也要将喜来乐绑至京城。孟庆合病情加剧，发觉自己吃的药里有泻药，率人来“一笑堂”问罪。
