电视新闻说东京湾海底的稀有金属开采基地附近出现了一只怪物，天野博士认出那是积高博士制造的机器兽，于是带着火鸟勇太郎、孙子孙女来带港口，但佐津田刑事不准他们接近海底基地，前去调查的科学家们嘲笑天野的古怪作风，天野博士气愤地离开。积高博士的计划是往海底开采基地的竖穴向地下岩浆发射导弹从而引起全球火山爆发，祖卢驾驶着海蛇形机械兽袭击开采基地，使得基地注水，科考员全部受困。勇太郎和健太驾驶“五形战士”5合1战机出动潜入海底，救出被困人员，成功阻止导弹倒地岩浆层。之后火鸟号和五形战士一起消灭敌人的机械兽。
