定国接获胞弟定邦于大陆来信，表示即将出狱，令他勾起当年一段唏嘘往事。 当年定国与定邦及凌德辉、冯坤为结拜兄弟，同为千门猛将，但四人于一次行骗计划中不幸失手，各散觅地匿藏，定邦逃返大陆，意外地犯事入狱，被判监廿年，而冯坤更于此时葬身大海。 定国与德辉经当年一役，决定不再作老千勾当，而德辉则几经艰苦，于地产界建立地位。 定邦阔别香港多年，未能接受现代的新事物，闹出笑话连篇。 定国一直以为定邦当年带同巨款逃回大陆，但同情他受了多年铁窗之苦，不便向他索回应得之部份。 定国与乃波的朋友打赌，要一口气吃下四十个汉堡包，当然不能，却无钱输给人，要向乃波借钱还赌债。 淑珍要乃波买一对名贵钻戒作结婚戒指，乃波嫌贵，二人发生争执，定邦睹状，扬言送给乃波作结婚礼物，令他啼笑皆非。
