在帝释综合医院，杏野朱罗以前的上司多闻真回来了。这是理事长阿含百合为了设立国际帝释医院从海外把他召回的。曾经作为急救科科长大展身手的多闻回国，对急救科来说本是再好不过的消息了，然而，多闻却告诉朱罗：“急救科不久后就要关闭了。” 面对曾经约定 “两人一起改变日本的急救现状” 的多闻如今的变化，朱罗一时说不出话来。另一方面，急救科没有一刻停歇。急救队员吉祥寺拓巳用担架抬进来一名男童。男童掉进了河里，处于心肺停止的状态。药师寺保被男童冰冷的身体深深触动而情绪非常激动。保拼命地持续做着心脏按摩，然而一个小时过去了，他渐渐露出了放弃的表情，停止了动作。朱罗推开这样的保，开始进行心脏按摩。“…… 你还得活下去啊。加油！” 朱罗朝着男童大喊……
