十年前的一场演出，扮演嬴政的演员因为事故摔下舞台，却坚持着用表演化解事故并完成了精彩的演出，这给青年演员詹鑫以极大的震撼；十年后，詹鑫得到成名师弟华子的帮助，请到自己偶像即当年扮演嬴政的演员来观看自己的演出，但却因为咖位问题，只能把主角让给师弟华子，自己演配角。华子非常过意不去，但詹鑫只想把最好的表演呈现给偶像。因为詹鑫的偶像始终没来，华子就一直不给詹鑫说完台词下场的机会，想把他留在场上，于是就不断地给他找事，甚至阻止他演的角色“去死”，这也让其他不知情的演员非常尴尬，演出破绽百出、难以为继。詹鑫质问华子捣乱的原因，华子终于说了实话。原来，这是詹鑫职业生涯最后一场演出，演完就要回家继承澡堂，而华子不想让詹鑫也就是自己的偶像这么黯然地离场，于是主动“死去”、把戏份还给詹鑫。虽然没有等来偶像，但詹鑫还是完成了一次衷心而诚恳的谢幕。
