幼稚园老师乔花枝（陈慧珊 饰）与母亲、继父过着安稳的生活。一天她收到一封有关继承生父江耀柱的百里香餐厅的律师信，但餐厅里根本没有出色的大厨，于是她到处寻找天才厨师马友（吴启华 饰）。但性格冷傲的马友因感情受挫无法再品尝美食而不再出任大厨。原来马友本是孤儿，幸好遇到启蒙老师耀柱。为了报恩，马友最终报答了花枝担任餐厅大厨。花枝同父异母的弟弟江上游（林峰 饰）对这两名突入其来进入餐厅的人充满敌意，但同样为了父亲的餐厅，三人开始互相合作，上游与马友也开展了一段亦师亦友的关系。花枝与马友日久生情，但令马友昔日情人苏眉（滕丽名 饰）再次出现了。而花枝也认识了当年与马友共同学艺的赐新（马德钟 饰），能力与信心十足的赐新在厨艺的地位斐然。但令赐新耿耿于怀的是天才厨师马友，两人至此一直没有比出高低。赐新重新把马友看作是事业上与爱情上的对手，于是向马友下了战书。百里香的存亡与爱情的选择使马友倍感压力……
