昭和４８年３月、聡子（安田美沙子）がロンドンへ旅立つ。糸子（尾野真千子）は優子（新山千春）から、離婚して北村（ほっしゃん。）と東京へ進出すると改めて聞き、一緒に行こうと強く誘われる。迷う糸子は、八重子（田丸麻紀）から美容室を閉めて長男のもとへ引っ越すと聞き、はかないモードに左右される洋服作りを、東京で続けることへの疑問を話す。すると八重子が思いがけないものを見せ、糸子は洋服作りの初心を思い出す。
