电视台录影途中，剧团丑生靓少宝突然吐血，更发现艺术总监龙耀中遇刺身亡，死状刻意模拟粤剧传统仪式中的“祭白虎”。高级化验师高安、高级法医闻家希及高级督察郭辉煌，带领法证、法医及重案组团队展开调查。高安透过现场血迹，模拟出死者遇害经过，配合家希的解剖结果和鉴证主任水慧明的化验，推断出死亡真相。辉煌从剧团成员和耀中父亲龙兆天口中，得知耀中与花旦龙映雪关系恶劣。期间适逢高安生日，但家人好友均不会给高安庆生，原来背后涉及高安童年的惨痛经历。警方寻获杀人凶器，进一步指向映雪有杀人嫌疑。辉煌再次向映雪问话，期间果然另有发现。与此同时，高安终洞悉最后一处血迹的内情。正当众人确定凶手谁属之际，剧团又再发生凶案。
