华谊年度大戏讲尽社会财富英雄创业成长故事的《大时代》，除了段奕宏高虎之间的兄弟情仇、段奕宏孙海英之间的两代商人的对抗，以及段奕宏高虎蒋勤勤三人之间微妙的情感纠葛之外，还有一条清新温暖的爱情线索，那就是段奕宏扮演的陈顶天与薛佳凝扮演的王清越之间，由5分钱开始的一段从纯真情愫到彼此纠结的一段曲折之恋。用薛佳凝的话说：“如果段奕宏扮演的陈顶天是《大时代》最精彩的一笔颜色，那么我们都是底色，而我扮演的王清越就是最底色的底色——白色。”而就是这样一抹清新的白色，给《大时代》丰富了一道感动美好的初恋，也给《大时代》抹上一段令男主角不断反复纠结之后终于找回的曲折真爱。 段奕宏和薛佳凝在《大时代》中扮演的陈顶天和王清越是一对青梅竹马的恋人，从小学时相识，由5分钱生出纯真情愫，后因父母工作变动而天各一方。大学毕业，陈顶天走遍北京城寻找王清越，只为了兑现小时候的承诺：“我长大了一定要娶你！”
