随着三上国治（大杉涟 饰）锒铛入狱，独立于法治之外依靠暴力惩戒暴力的“神隐手”似乎从此销声匿迹。神奈川县警搜查一课的伊达一义（堺雅人 饰）前去探监，淡定自若的三上与之回忆了三年前他们第一次见面的场景。当时三上委托伊达，向残杀了无故送货员的恶德警察中崎道彦（鶴见辰吾 饰）施以神隐手的惩罚。这个被成为具有菩萨心肠的刑警，由此踏上了介乎黑白之间的灰色之路。与此同时，宫城明日香（杏 饰）和鉴识科警员久远健志（锦户亮 饰）也回忆起初次见面的种种以及围绕神隐手所发生的一切案件。极具冲击力的往事交替浮现。
