国会议员户田雄一郎(龙雷太饰)带着志木那岛出身的秘书安部纯一(井泽健饰)来到岛上，希望说服岛民同意在岛上盖大型垃圾处理场。议员在演讲时，原刚利(时任三郎饰)前来阻止，议员却在此时突然倒地不起，众人于是将他送往岛上的诊疗所急救。 议员被诊断出得的是尿道结石，但议员的女儿由纪(木村佳乃饰)阻止健助(吉冈秀隆饰)在众人面前说出父亲的病名，希望藉此让利欲薰心的父亲在诊疗所住院,重新审视自己的所作所为。 纯一的母亲广子误以为议员离罹患癌症，甚至不顾自己的脚伤，前去帮议员求平安符，彩佳(柴崎幸饰)对由纪故意误导大家的做法相当不以为然，与由纪发生口角。 而议员也以为自己得了绝症，整整2天不吃不喝，让由纪对自己的作法开始动摇。结果议员终于反省了自己的行径，对广子等人道歉，也决定放弃在岛上建设垃圾处理场的计画，让由纪和健助等人非常欣慰……
