刚走出复旦大学校门的许诺，一心想进入“威臣”这间4A广告公司应职。经历了过五关斩六将的艰难后，许诺得到最后面试的机会。不想却在面试的当天睡过了头。的士上焦急的许诺被困在堵塞的车流中。这时她突然发现另有证明文件忘在家中，看到邻车男士刚放下的手提电话。许诺冒昧地提出借用的请求。男士正是威臣公司客户部经理高积安。但他好心的结果却是使自己的电话和那个陌生的友孩随着车河的涌动而消失，电话没有追回，也没有追到苦寻两年又意外出现的“梦中情人”方芳。这一切让高积安感到十分懊恼。许诺在面试中被公司高层所赏识。不料推门而入的高积安令许诺大吃一惊，许诺被高积安以恰当的理由拒绝于公司门外，许诺负气离开，加深了她对高积安的误会。在归途中，许诺被车撞伤。
