红军在漳州四十多天里，总共筹集到了一百万资金， 以及大量的物资，更令人欣喜的是两架飞机。一百万银元该如何处置，这是一个十分重要的问题。在毛泽东的建议下，毛泽民把漳州筹到的一百万银元一分为二，一半放到国家银行，一半建立秘密金库。毛泽民找不到建立秘密金库的合适地点，毛泽东给了他一个绝佳的地方——石城县烂泥垅，那里远离大路，隐蔽又方便。毛泽民在郑宏等保卫局战士的护送下一路赶往石城烂泥坑，经过闽西时，不仅将之前向闽西商人的借款全部还上了，还额外补偿了一大笔利息。商人们敬佩毛泽民、共产党的重诺守信，在红色商人华家庚的带领下，大家不仅拒收利息还一并撕掉了欠条，把所有资金再次捐给了红军。
