戚夫人发动夺储之战，严重高估了自己的能力，也严重低估了吕后的能力。戚夫人这个战争方式，带有很大的普遍性，戚夫人首先想摆平刘邦，再让刘邦去摆平吕后和朝中大臣，刘邦虽然鼎力支持废太子一事，但却虎头蛇尾，终于在高帝十二年，因为商山四皓的出现而划上了句号。从此刘邦不再提及废太子之事，但刘邦虽然不再支持戚夫人进行夺储之战了，但是这个事情并没有了结，它一个最大的隐患就在于戚夫人和吕后之间已经结成了死冤。
