贺兰雅去刑部找高墨，看到他和周悦拉扯，顿时明白过来，怪不得高墨对她不来感觉。周悦回到家收拾了包袱，周夫人以为她想通了要跟自己回苏州，却不料这个包袱是她收拾给自己的。周悦说她和沈鱼是刎颈之交，她不能置沈鱼于不顾，周夫人心疼女儿，终于答应让她留在这里，但周夫人叮嘱周悦，做事也一定要量力而行。周悦去狱中看望沈鱼，她为沈鱼的事情到处找转圜之法，沈鱼却想与她和离。原来早在茅屋坦白身份后，沈鱼就已经写好了和离书。 隔着狱门，沈鱼读出和离书上的内容，她和周悦都泪流满面。高墨得知沈鱼早已为周悦想好退路后，不禁感慨。周悦心疼沈鱼从小失去双亲的悲惨命运，所以想给她一个家，高墨提醒她，她自己也需要考虑到。齐璋这几日连日赶路，把赤焰都累趴下了，只好先放下赶路一事，陪赤焰在路上休息。宁王去贺广府中议事，现在皇上迟迟不对景王做任何处置，宁王想找人试探一下，正好贺兰雅提到了周依惠，宁王于是借水推舟，打算让周依惠和齐璋成婚。
