齐天佐按照梁大威的推荐，到江宁的高级餐厅面试甜品总监，因为他在业内名气很大加上梁大威的推荐，整个过程极为顺利。齐天佐签完劳动合同后，老板向他介绍餐厅行政主厨权薇，齐天佐傻眼了。 权薇和齐天佐在很多年前曾经交过往，分手多年竟然在这家餐厅以这种方式重逢，而权薇显然对他还有成见，坚持所有人一视同仁，新来的员工必须试菜。齐天佐有心扭头就走，但老板爱才心切，而且合同中的违约代价很大，兜比脸干净的齐天佐无力毁约，只能咬牙入职。齐天佐入职后除了面对上级权薇，还有一个笑面虎同事陈朗，陈朗先是在试菜时暗中做手脚，齐天佐在他的“小粉丝”田湉协助下化险为夷。随后陈朗又在工作期间伙同其他同事架空齐天佐，齐天佐不争不抢，无为而治。
