11班和1班发生冲突的次日，11班班牌上突然出现了一个用油漆写下的“X”。这个“X”让11班学生闹了起来，一定要揪出“犯人”。莫默好不容易安抚好学生们的情绪，却也觉得有必要给学生们一个交代。莫默在教职员大会上要求学校为高二11班辟谣，例证11班并非后进班级，莫默提出如果11班在摸底考试中没有出现作弊行为就要学校彻查到底是谁在班牌上画“X”，并全校为11班正名。然而，11班学生不理解莫默的苦心，作弊手段层数不穷。莫默和学生斗智斗勇，以为万无一失时，一枚橡皮擦引发了混乱。贾主任认为橡皮擦属于吴文，认定吴文作弊。吴文为了保护真正作弊的祁白，只好承认作弊。殊不知这枚橡皮擦的主人是夏子宁。夏子宁以揭发祁白威胁吴文答应教她如何记过，成为真正的后进生。吴文迫于无奈下只好嘴上答应，其实是拖延时间。莫默很伤心11班学生不争气，愿赌服输接受处罚。然而11班学生不为所动，还嘲笑莫默。
