During the late sixties, Tsui Kam Fat, a barber, lives in con?tentment though he is poor. However, his wife, Mei Wah, cannot bear the poverty and always complaints about her husband. Thus, there are a lot of quarrels between the couple. Having no other way out, Kam Fat pays all his attention on his only child, Ka Ki. Therefore, the father-son relationship is very good and intimate. Mei Wah is wild and aggressive, she eventually commits adultery with the dispensary salesman, Tsang Chung Ching.
