悠太郎（東出昌大）は、大五（原田泰造）に、東京に住むことを条件に結婚への許しを乞う。め以子（杏）は、悠太郎の大阪の街づくりへの夢を思って猛反対。大五は一層腹を立て、「結婚するなら勘当だ」と言う。家を出るというめ以子を、幸福な家族を失うなと諭す悠太郎。め以子は暑い中仕事をする大五を思いやり、氷で冷やしたみそ汁「がわがわ」を作る。大阪で新たな家族のために頑張り、幸せになってみせる精一杯の思いを伝える。
