タミン巡査がSVUに派遣されて早々、13歳の少女エヴァンジェリンがオハイオから家出しNYにたどり着く。キリスト教原理主義者の母親タミーと継父のジェームズが娘を迎えに来るが、エヴァンジェリンは帰りたくないと言う。彼女はみごもった子供をおろすため、中絶が合法であるNYへ来たのだ。家庭裁判所で中絶が認められようとした矢先、オハイオからグラハム弁護士が「NYの刑事を殺人の共謀で起訴する」と乗り込んでくる。
