SDM 気象班統括責任者・晴原 は、救助の際に崖から落ち、二重遭難してしまった消防班責任者・佐竹 と要救助者・前田を救うため、気象の解析を続けていた。そんな中、前田の妻・明日香 が佐竹の娘であることが判明する。消防班班員の優吾 は、上司の佐竹たちを真っ先に救出したいがアプローチする方法がなく、断腸の思いで一時撤退する。そんな中、さらなる要救助者の親子が出たとの連絡が入る。後ろ髪を引かれつつも「救えない命より救える命に向き合う。佐竹隊長ならそうする。」という想いを胸に、新たな要救助者のもとに向かう。吹雪で視界が遮られ、親子の捜索は思い通り進まない。一方で、佐竹たちの救助も一刻の猶予もない状況になり・・・。
