成績優秀で周囲からも一目置かれる高校生・蘇御（スー・ユー）。父親と2人で質素ながらも温かい生活を送っていたが、ある日、町では蘇御を捨てた母親が大金持ちと再婚するという噂が流れる。一方、その大金持ちには有名私立高校に通う呉比（ウー・ビー）という息子がおり、蘇御の母親から成績優秀な息子の話を聞いた呉比の父親は、“才能を無駄にしてはいけない” と、呉比と同じ私立学校へ彼を転校させようと提案する。しかし、呉比はそれを受け入れられず…。
