熱烈な恋愛の末、結婚した広瀬友子（中山美穂）と聡（三田村邦彦）。新居は気の遠くなるほどのローンを覚悟して買ったステキなマンション。これからいよいよ甘〜い新婚生活がスタートするのだ。聡には、妻と死別して３人の子供を抱えている兄・春夫（伊東四朗）と、嫁にいった姉・塩川みずえ（中尾ミエ）、それに口も達者、体も達者という母親・タツ（千石規子）がいる。新婚生活は、この騒々しい家族とは別居して２人だけでスタートするはずだった…。だがある日突然、タツと３人の姪（西尾麻里・近藤花恵・圡井千恵子）が押しかけてきた。さらに、姉（中尾ミエ）も息子連れで現れて…。
