宮城県田尻町、ここでは田起こしや代掻きをせず、固い土にそのまま苗を植える不耕起農法が広がっている。低コストを目指し農薬や化学肥料を使わないため、田んぼには生き物たちが満ち溢れる。タニシ、メダカ、ドジョウ、…冬には水を張ることでガンや白鳥もやってくる。これは近くにある蕪栗沼に集中する渡り鳥たちを分散させる役割を果している。人間の経済行為と自然保護をうまく結び付けようという新たな取り組みを紹介する。
