天蓬元帅觊觎嫦娥仙子的美貌，斗胆追求，因此遭到了玉帝的惩罚，在押解途中，天蓬元帅挣脱了桎梏想要逃跑，却误打误撞投胎成为了一头猪。土地无意之中打翻了观音菩萨的法宝“灵芝露”，灵芝露撒在了天蓬元帅的头上，从此时间多了一个猪头人身的猪八戒。猪八戒来到天庭为自己伸冤，却因为贪吃的恶习误了事，之后又和曾经的搭档福迪产生了争执，福迪亦被贬入人间。土地请来了猪八戒做自己庙里的保安，猪八戒赶走了常来惹事的野猪，却对付不了狡猾的老鼠。福迪和猪八戒两人俨然一对欢喜冤家，相互作对拆台，引发了一幕幕爆笑的场景。
