继《喜羊羊与灰太狼大电影7》后，小羊想念古羊族朋友，带上百宝袋里的新科技物品，回远古时代度假。灰太狼却带着老婆孩子要去没有喜羊羊在的远古时代捉羊，灰太狼和小羊在时空隧道撞车，百宝袋落在灰太狼手中。 小羊的新科技舒服度假却变成用石头科技辛苦度假：在石头手机刻上文字扔出去叫飞信……等等。小羊疲倦打算回青青草原时却发现了灰太狼的阴谋。 灰太狼利用高科技产品，将古狼部落改造成高科技堡垒，因此成为最高首领，灰太狼利用高科技武器捉羊，让古羊部落陷入危机。 古羊抵不过高科技武器的攻击，喜羊羊找企鹅帮忙，利用企鹅收集的武功秘籍和道具，对抗灰太狼。 于是，原始道具对抗高科技武器，喜羊羊与灰太狼的故事在远古时代精彩上演。
