水二爷（巍子 饰）抢了京城富商仇达诚未过门的二房草儿秀，对她照拂有加，很快，草儿秀就真心实意的喜欢上了侠肝义胆的水二爷，两人结为夫妻后恩爱有加。婚后，草儿秀给水二爷添了一儿二女，可不幸的是，在生产小女儿之时，草儿秀遭遇难产英年早逝，水二爷大受打击。 随着孩子们渐渐长大，麻烦接踵而至。大女儿水玉梅偏偏爱上了仇达诚的大儿子仇家杨（杨佳音 饰），水二爷虽然极力反对这段感情，但拗不过水玉梅的固执和倔强，最终还是将女儿送到了仇家。更糟的是，小女儿水英英（姚笛 饰）亦爱上了仇家二少爷仇家远（白恩 饰），命运将这两家人紧紧的拴在了一起。
