Maros Pulscak
Maros Pulscak is a Slovak film director specializing in fiction and documentary cinema. He studied Arts and Culture at Radboud University in the Netherlands, where he deepened his understanding of art history, culture, and philosophy. He later completed a Master's degree with Cum Laude in Documentary Film at the Baltic Film School in Tallinn. He draws significant inspiration from Surrealism and the Czechoslovak New Wave, infusing his films with a distinctive aesthetic and intertextuality. With his work, he focuses on the exploration of uncomfortable, and unconventional, challenging established social norms and diving into the complexities of postmodern thought. His first documentary film Backstage Bardo (2023), premiered at A class Tallinn black nights Film Festival and received several prizes around Europe. His last documentary Fever Dream Jantien (2024) also premiered at Black Nights. He aims to craft narratives that dwell on cultural and social issues, inviting viewers to reflect, question, and reimagine their perspectives.
