Makoto Masaki en Haruko Kogetsu zijn allebei 29 jaar oud en vrijgezel. Sinds ze kinderen waren, kwamen ze elkaar op verschillende plaatsen tegen, zoals op het strand en bij heiligdommen. Toch zijn de twee zich totaal niet van elkaar bewust. Op een dag verschijnt er een man voor Makoto Masaki en stelt zichzelf voor als God. Hij vertelt Makoto Masaki over zijn voorbestemde soulmate en dat ze naast de deur werkt. Wanneer hij tegenover Haruko Kogetsu staat, zegt hij tegen haar: 'Ik ben jouw lot.'
