ある日突然「モノを捨てたい！」という衝動にかられた女性が「なんにもないウチ」を手にするまでを描いた人気コミック・エッセイをドラマ化。ゆるり まい（夏帆）は、山ほどあった本も、思い出のつまった品々も、家具も食器も、服もタオルも、生活に必要な最小限度のモノ以外は処分してしまいます。リモコンや小物はすべて棚の中。がらんと広い何にもない部屋を訪れた友人は驚愕し、まいをこう呼びます。「捨て変態」と。捨てることの気持ちよさに目覚め、「捨て」の道を極めることに。しかし、「捨て」の道はいばら道。なんでも「もったいない」と捨てたがらない母（朝加真由美）や祖母（江波杏子）との確執。捨てる一方で物欲は強い自分との闘い。心のよりどころは仏様のように心の広い夫・つとむくん（近藤公園）。東日本大震災、そして家族との別れを経て、まいは、モノと暮らしを見つめ直していきます。役に立つ整理整頓術のミニコーナーもある新感覚のコメディー。
