少女漫画家さんぷう・みなみ。本名・越前剛太郎（玉木宏）。世間的には女性と思われているが実は2人の子がいるシングルファーザーだ。忙しい日々を送る剛太郎はある日、検察審査員に任命された。漫画の〆切が迫る剛太郎は辞退を申し出るも、特別な事情ではないため裁判所に却下される。しかも編集者に「さっさと終わらせる」と説明しているのを弁護士の近藤ふみに聞かれ、「さっさと終わらせるようなものではありません」と叱責されてしまう。 集められた審査員11人は個性的な上、一様に早く終わらせたいという空気を放っている。さらに審議を進行する審査会長に選ばれてしまった剛太郎は、右も左もわからぬまま、みんなに急かされるように一つの事案を手に取った。それは、ある男性に因縁をつけた泥酔状態の会社員が、殴り返された拍子に頭を強く打ち死亡するも不起訴となった事件。大半が「不起訴相当」とするが、やがて“さっさと終わらせる”わけにはいかない裏事情が浮かび上がる。
