帰り際、毎日何気なくかけてきた挨拶を、これからもずっと続けていきたい―それが飼育員の2人の、いまの切なる願いだ。 阪神・淡路大震災復興のシンボルとして来日し、市民から“神戸のお嬢様”と愛されてきたパンダのタンタン。現在25歳で、人間でいえば80歳近いタンタンと、飼育員２人の心温まる交流に密着したドキュメント「ごろごろパンダ日記」の放送から8か月。 あの時から、状況は大きく変わった。高齢から、タンタンが心臓疾患を発症してしまったのだ。これまで経験したことのない、パンダの老いと病に立ち向かう王子動物園の飼育員と、獣医師たちの奮闘の日々に密着する。
