物語の舞台は 「サトリ」 こと星慧 (ほしさとり) の高校時代にさかのぼります。地味で目立たない美術部員であったサトリは淡い恋心を抱いていたテニス部の男子・水島翔一 (國島直希) のことを思ううちに心の声を聞くことができるようになります。人の心を読めてしまうという特殊な能力の発現により、その恋や高校生活は大きく左右されてしまうのです。 17歳の少女が人の心を読む SPEC を持ってしまったときの繊細な葛藤や苦しみを真野恵里菜さんがきめ細かく演じます。そしてサトリはその後、どのような運命をたどるのか。Paravi では 「SPEC」 も見放題となっているため、「SPEC」 を見返しつつサトリの成長を見て楽しむこともできます。 今回も演出は鬼才・堤幸彦監督。「SICK’S恕乃抄」 に引き続き、地上波ドラマでは表現できない動画配信ならではのコミカルな演出もふんだんに盛り込まれています。
