マットは、妻と２人の娘と共にハワイで暮らしていた。ところがある日、妻がボートの事故に遭い、そのまま昏睡状態となってしまう。それをきっかけに、妻が彼と離婚するつもりだったことや、そのことを長女だけでなく友人たちも知っていたことが判明しショックを受ける。
