ニューオーリンズのフレンチ・クオーターに住む少女ティアナは、ある夜人語を話すカエルに出会った。カエルは、自分が魔法をかけられてしまった王子のナヴィーンだと名乗り、人間に戻るために彼女にキスしてくれるように頼んだ。ティアナは躊躇の後キスしたが、ナヴィーンの姿は戻らず、ティアナの姿までカエルに変えられてしまう。
